The homemade raccoon eviction fluid can be sprayed, using a plastic spraying can. Spray it on all the places that raccoons are most likely going to visit, to keep them off. You can also spray the raccoon eviction fluids that you got from stores. 

But when you want to get them to hard-to-reach areas in your home such as the attic and chimney, you need things that can carry it there. Examples of such things are pieces of rag and tennis balls. Just dip them in the raccoon eviction fluid and toss them into these hard-to-reach parts of your home.
